What We Do in the Shadows - a Friday Film Prompt

Viago: “Deacon, you’re a cool guy but you’re not pulling your weight in the flat.”
Deacon: “Well, I’m glad to hear that I’m cool.”
Viago: “This is not a flat meeting about how cool you are.”

Alright, folks!  Let’s keep this prompt-a-day craze rolling right into the weekend with a bit of fun.

The Film - What We Do in the Shadows
Don’t worry, you don’t have to see the film to participate (though you really should watch it because it’s 88 minutes of sheer delight). Allow me to summarize (without spoilers). What We Do in the Shadows is a fake documentary (or mockumentary) about 4 vampires sharing a flat in New Zealand. It follows their struggles with  issues like enforcing chore charts, proper feeding etiquette, and how to prepare for a night on the town when you can’t see your own reflection.

Here’s the official movie trailer that will give you a small taste of its brilliance.

The prompt
Write a poem about a supernatural creature who is a troublesome roommate. Maybe it’s a werewolf who only takes the trash out during a full moon. Maybe it’s the lochness monster who forgets to lock the doors. Maybe it’s a vampire who can never go to cool places because she isn’t invited in. The only limit is your imagination.

So go now, my muddy buddies and bring back something shiny and unexpected!

Monster: "Would you like to read my WIP?"

Me: "AAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"

C'mon, help me nail boards across the windows.

Oh yes, this is one of my favourite movies. Last time I was visiting my son and d-i-l and they found out I'd never seen it, they said, 'You HAVE to watch it!' and sat me down and watched it with me – and they were so right.

I doubt if I can be that funny, but I'll try to think up a suitably unsuitable monster.

Loved the trailer Izy, but must admit I found this a difficult prompt. I could have written a haibun more easily but didn't think of it on time. No matter, it was fun :-)

Izzy, I love the prompt and mine is thoroughly ridiculous, but hey, you go where your muse leads you. I am still traveling so I will catch up on all the reading when I get back home.
