Hello, Hannah here with a natural wonder
to enthuse your muse!
Mendenhall Ice Caves, Juneau, Alaska
I like how the guide described the inside
of the ice cave as having a blue aura.
(photobucket) This image has such a surreal tone to it! |
- infuse this setting into your poem
- color
- temperature
- create a fictional adventure
- add the element of ice
- make a cave out of words
There're many directions one can go with this!
Have fun, write something new and please visit your blogging friends ice-caves!!
Thank you for writing, smiles!

I've seen glaciers in a few places, including Alaska, and the idea of being under one scares me witless, so I ignored my claustrophobia and speluncaphobia and decided to write lightly and fondly of the cave.
Thanks, Hannah, maybe it will help me to have confronted these twin demons.

Amazing caves!!
An interesting prompt Hannah ~
I have been to an underground river cave, under the mountain, but not made of ice ~
Happy Friday to all ~
I have been 'walked' through corridors cut into a glacier in Switzerland - the texture and colour of the ice is amazingly surreal.
I shall be giving this prompt some thought, Hannah. Thank you for providing us with another phenomenal feature of the natural world.
That is indeed a gorgeous image, Hannah, and a great challenge. If anything melts my ice-bound muse, I'll be back.
Kay, for some reason I cannot access your blog without permission. Perhaps you have changed your settings?
I'm with Kerry wondering why I can't read your post, Ms. Kay!
What a pretty picture! I think images are often the best prompts.
This image reminds me of cruising the Alaskan Coast ... which I have done several times. So lovely, serene, magical.
another cool find, Hannah!
Hannah, a very intriguing prompt. I will see where it takes me. Will be back!
Vandana,
Your words are exactly the way I imagine I would feel inside the blue caves. Well done. I especially love "holding secrets of other side". I always have trouble with your moving widgets - they keep taking me to an animation page - hard to leave a comment:) I try and try, and today finally gave up. Hope you find this here. Anyone else having trouble or is it just me?
SOS Kay! we demand that you fix your blog immediately! ;)
I'm trying to fix it. Not doing a very good job. "Kay, correct link" ended up on the Bosses' Day list. Now it is here for Hannah's prompt, but I haven't tested it yet.
Yay, it works for me. Hope it works for other Toads.
What a beautiful image and inspiration. It is good to be home. I had such an amazing trip and opportunity to meet author friends I have connected with on the web.
Kay, I could read your post, but it wouldn't let me leave a comment. I love all the ice blue in it. Nice work!!
Thanks Hannah! Truly - it is hard to believe places like this exist.
Thank you Hannah! I wish I was there right now. The ice is really that blue-gorgeous!!
Hi Hannah, I tried to write about nature, but Superman's Ice Cave kept rising into my sights--yes, the one in the Superman movies and then I thought Of Robert Frost and the rest is (as they say) here after a few hours of cutting and cutting.
Wonderful poets!!! So glad to see that this inspired so many of you!! I apologize for not getting @ to you all yet...I didn't realize that I have a busy few days this weekend...I'll be around as soon as I can... :)
Sorry I am late Hannah!
Oh don't worry Ella! I am too and I'm the hostess!! :)
In the viXra an interesting shot film and book review inspired and kept me busy then I saw Hannah's prompt on imaginary gardens... sorry I am late, another fine exercise of love and the cosmos as poetry.
