Wednesdays with Peggy

Point of View and Place

Greetings fellow Toads. Peggy in Southern California here.  This time I have a very toady prompt for us all.  And I hope to see many of you giving it a try.

Point of view and place are both important elements of poetry and story telling. This time take the point of view of an animal -- lets stretch a bit and make it NOT a dog or a cat.  You can even choose an imaginary or mythical animal.

Take this animal to a place you are not in every day. It can be a real place or an imaginary place at any time past, present or future.   Tell us about this place through the eyes, ears, nose, skin  (or whatever)  of your animal.

There is a lot of this in children's literature, if you want inspiration. You can even take and animal from Dr. Seuss to a place of your choosing.

So choose an animal, take it someplace--and write!

I hope it will be fun. I look forward to seeing what you all write.  Link it with Mr. Linky below and then visit the other Toads and see what they have linked.

Write on!

Well, I have the feeling, I'll just let my Millie goat answer today's prompt. She is an accomplished blogger, you know.

I am fond of turtles, but in this poem I choose we hairless apes for the role of spirit animal.

Hello from muggy Philadelphia where I'm moving slowly this morning. I've taken a worm's eye view here.

I thought I had linked this last night. I know I posted it about 1:00 am, but I didn't link it to Toads. Well, here it is.

Such a very nice idea, Peggy. It was an enjoyable write for me.

But when I was browsing my picture file for an animal (I was looking for a black sheep, the "Baa baa, have you any..." kind) when I found this Fine Lady. I hope you don't mind.

HI Toads and friends. Thanks for all the poem responses. I am late reading here -- busy day for some reason though it is hard to say exactly what I did. We were away most of last week. Anyway, I am off to read now. Thanks!

I'm very late to the party. I've not been well this week, and this was a busy work week, with a lot of deadlines. I managed to read several poems, but not leave comments on all of them.
