Words Count With Mama Zen

A poetry prompt?  On Christmas Day?  Ain't nobody got time for that!

Let's keep it short and sweet.  Today, we're writing ho ho hoku: 5-7-5 syllables of happy holiday (or, bah humbug!) 'ku for your fellow Toads.  Do as many as you like; there's no word count.  Just have some fun. Post whenever you get a chance.  No one shall receive a lump of coal for being late.

Merry Christmas, Toads!

Mama Zen

One of favourite catch phrases!

Thanks for making this a real short option, MZ. It's 1.30PM my time. Presents unwrapped, cooking marathon complete and I'm slipping into my Christmas day food coma... However, I shall endeavour to put together 17 syllables (between today and tomorrow). A challenge is a challenge, and I have so much to be grateful for.

There are lots of them

Merry Christmas to All!

My poem, based on haiku form, but I never bother to count my muse's inspiration. :)

I meant to note that my poem is 17 syllables but not 5-7-5. I'm thrilled to see so many poems already in the line up after my post-Christmas-lunch nap.

Heck! Where did you find this GREAT tune? I've got to share it!

Haiku for the Imaginary Garden

Peep! When Real Toads speak,
peep! Seasons stop to hear, look,
and praise the Garden.

Merry Christmas, toads.
Love, Susan

Hey MZ and Kerry-- hope all well. My drawing, I confess, a bit rushed--or the iPhone painting part! Though I am really having a very relaxed time at this point. Thanks for all your fun through the year. k.

Hope you guys had a little fun with this. I just got home from my Christmas travels, but I'll be around as soon as I can.

HO HO HO… I am playing but will be LATE. It has been the busiest Christmas ever - I always thought it would be less crazy as the kids aged… but they stay up so LATE and want to go to movies and malls … I'm exhausted (in a good way)
